About Envision Mind Care

Envision Mind Care is an interdisciplinary mental health and addictions clinic in Edmonton. We provide outpatient and inpatient services that integrate psychiatry, psychology, nursing, addiction counselling, physiotherapy, nutrition, and innovative treatments such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and psychedelic assisted treatment when clinically appropriate. Our team is collaborative, evidence-informed, and person-centred.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Kinesiologist to design and deliver safe, goal-oriented movement and exercise programs for adults in mental health and substance use recovery. You will work closely with our physiotherapist, dietitian, counsellors, nurses, and physicians to support functional goals, pain management, and return-to-work readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete movement and functional assessments, baseline measures, and risk screens

  • Develop individualized exercise prescriptions and group class plans aligned to care plans

  • Coach clients on proper technique, pacing, and self-management strategies

  • Support clients in our onsite gym and wellness spaces, ensuring safe use of equipment

  • Deliver psychoeducation on topics such as movement for mood, sleep, and stress

  • Document assessments, progress notes, and outcomes in the EMR in a timely manner

  • Collaborate on interdisciplinary care conferences and discharge planning

  • Contribute to return-to-work and activity-based rehabilitation plans

  • Maintain clean, organized, and accessible gym and program areas

  • Uphold privacy, safety, and infection control policies and assist with incident reporting when required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, or equivalent

  • Registration or membership in good standing with the Alberta Kinesiology Association or eligibility with the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance

  • Current BLS or CPR-C

  • Experience in any of the following is an asset: mental health, substance use recovery, pain management, neurostimulation settings, return-to-work programming, or inpatient care

  • Strong documentation skills and comfort with EMRs

  • Trauma-informed, culturally safe, and client-centred approach

  • Clear Vulnerable Sector and Police Information Check, or willingness to obtain

Schedule and Work Arrangements

  • Weekday hours with the possibility of some early evenings or occasional Saturdays based on program needs

  • Role can be structured as full-time or part-time

  • Onsite position at our Edmonton clinic with potential to support virtual education sessions
