Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Multi Program Support
Position Summary:
We are currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our dynamic team in a multi-program support role. This unique opportunity offers exposure to cutting-edge mental health treatments and the chance to work in an evolving environment under the guidance of our Medical Director. LPNs may be assigned to support in the SUD program, act as Ketamine Technicians, and/or provide IV Nutrition Therapy assistance depending on clinic needs.
Night shift flexibility is required for occasional urgent program coverage.
Please note: Prior experience in psychedelics, TMS, or IV therapies is not required—we provide comprehensive on-site training.
Key Responsibilities:
Ketamine, Psychedelic, and IV Treatment Support (as assigned):
Assist with medication preparation and administration (oral, IM, or IV).
Monitor patients for safety before, during, and after treatments.
Maintain accurate medication records, including logs for controlled substances.
Provide patient education and conduct treatment orientation sessions.
SUD Program Support (as assigned):
Deliver nursing care in residential and outpatient addiction programs.
Support withdrawal management and monitor medication efficacy and side effects.
Conduct physical and psychosocial assessments to support care planning.
Respond to adverse events and medical emergencies.
General Nursing Duties:
Administer medications, including intramuscular (IM) injections, and ensure proper medication documentation and counts—particularly for controlled substances.
Monitor clients during and after psychedelic-assisted treatments (e.g., IM ketamine) and respond to potential adverse reactions in collaboration with the clinical team.
Provide patient education and orientation on procedures such as ketamine, TMS, IV support, and residential program expectations.
Document patient progress, vitals, behavioral observations, and treatment outcomes in the EMR with attention to regulatory and licensing standards.
Support clients in the SUD inpatient program through daily check-ins, health assessments, and monitoring of withdrawal symptoms.
Assist in coordinating patient schedules, treatments, and follow-up appointments with allied health professionals (e.g., psychiatrists, dietitians, physiotherapists).
Maintain professional boundaries and a therapeutic environment in alignment with trauma-informed care principles.
Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with other healthcare staff, including physicians, addiction counselors, and mental health therapists.
Remain up to date on licensing requirements and standards for Psychedelic Drug Treatment Services and Residential Addiction Treatment Services in Alberta (training provided during onboarding).
What We’re Looking For:
Active LPN license in Alberta.
Experience in mental health or addictions preferred, but not required.
IV certification or willingness to complete training.
Strong clinical judgment and interpersonal communication skills.
Tech-savvy and comfortable with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, if needed.
