Anesthesiologist - Mental Health and Addictions Clinic - IV Therapy Program

About This Role

Envision Mind Care is an Edmonton based mental health and addictions clinic dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence informed care. As our IV Therapy Program continues to grow, we are looking for an Anesthesiologist to support our IV ketamine and nutrition infusion services and see patients directly within our interventional psychiatry program.

This is a part-time, independent contractor opportunity for a specialist physician who wants to bring their anesthesia expertise into a meaningful, patient centered mental health setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing IV ketamine and nutrition infusion sessions

  • Assessing and seeing patients directly, including pre-procedure evaluation and follow-up care

  • Working alongside our psychiatry, counseling, and nursing team to support integrated patient care

  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation in accordance with CPSA standards

  • Responding to and managing any acute clinical needs during infusion sessions

Qualifications:

  • Eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)

  • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) certification in Anesthesiology, or specialist certification in Anesthesiology from a jurisdiction recognized by CPSA (such as the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa), supported by at least 48 months of continuous postgraduate specialty training equivalent to RCPSC requirements

  • Physicians trained outside a CPSA-recognized jurisdiction may be eligible to pursue independent licensure through CPSA's Practice Readiness Assessment (PRA) pathway

  • Membership or eligibility with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada, or willingness to pursue this with support

  • Interest or experience in mental health, addictions, or interventional psychiatry is an asset

  • Comfort working independently as a contracted physician within a collaborative clinical team

  • Strong communication skills and a genuine, patient centered approach to care

Required Certifications and Screening:

  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification

  • Satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search

All staff are generally required to provide and maintain a satisfactory Police Information Check, a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check, and current Basic Life Support certification, unless the clinic determines that an exception applies based on the role's duties, level of client contact, programme involvement, work setting, and operational requirements. Where appropriate, the clinic may accept an equivalent, current, or otherwise satisfactory screening, certification, or related credentialing component already held through a regulatory body, professional college, employer, hospital, or other recognised source. Additional screening, certification, or programme-specific requirements may apply depending on the position and assigned services.

What We Offer

  • Flexible, part-time contract structure that fits around your existing practice

  • A purpose built, collaborative mental health and addictions clinic in Edmonton

  • A growing, innovative interventional psychiatry program

  • A supportive clinical and administrative team

We thank all applicants for their interest. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
