Responsibilities:
Providing medical oversight and safety monitoring during IV ketamine and nutrition infusion sessions
Working alongside our psychiatry, counseling, and nursing team to support integrated patient care
Maintaining accurate clinical documentation in accordance with CPSA standards
Responding to and managing any acute clinical needs during infusion sessions
Qualifications:
Eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)
Medical degree and training in Family Medicine or General Practice from a recognized jurisdiction (Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, or equivalent)
Certification or eligibility with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), or an equivalent international credential (e.g., MRCGP, FRACGP)
Active certification in Emergency Medicine (ACLS/ATLS) or Anesthesia, required to support IV ketamine and nutrition infusion services
Membership or eligibility with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
Legal entitlement to work in Canada, or willingness to pursue this with support
Interest or experience in mental health, addictions, or interventional psychiatry is an asset
Comfort working independently as a contracted physician within a collaborative clinical team
Strong communication skills and a genuine, patient centered approach to care
Required Certifications and Screening:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
Satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
All staff are generally required to provide and maintain a satisfactory Police Information Check, a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check, and current Basic Life Support certification, unless the clinic determines that an exception applies based on the role's duties, level of client contact, programme involvement, work setting, and operational requirements. Where appropriate, the clinic may accept an equivalent, current, or otherwise satisfactory screening, certification, or related credentialing component already held through a regulatory body, professional college, employer, hospital, or other recognised source. Additional screening, certification, or programme-specific requirements may apply depending on the position and assigned services.
